Ishaq Dar, Prince Faisal welcome near-final US-Iran deal

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Saturday held a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, during which the two leaders reviewed the evolving regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability.

During the discussion, both foreign ministers welcomed the significant progress made in the US-Iran negotiations, noting that the process had entered its final stage, with an electronic signing ceremony expected to take place tomorrow.

Expressing optimism about the outcome, the two leaders hoped that the agreement would pave the way for durable peace, stability and enhanced cooperation across the region.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan appreciated Pakistan’s consistent and constructive role throughout the mediation process, acknowledging Islamabad’s sustained efforts to encourage dialogue, facilitate negotiations and support diplomatic engagement between the concerned parties.

The conversation also covered preparations for the forthcoming Regional Four Foreign Ministers (R-4) meeting, scheduled to be held in Egypt later this month, where regional leaders are expected to discuss key political and security developments.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued consultation and coordination on matters of mutual interest, underscoring the importance of diplomacy and collective efforts in addressing regional challenges and advancing peace initiatives.
