Bilawal promises land ownership, 18th Amendment safeguards for Gilgit-Baltistan

GILGIT: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Friday pledged to secure land ownership rights and protections under the 18th Constitutional Amendment for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
He made the remarks while addressing a public rally in Gilgit during his campaign tour of the region ahead of the June 7 elections.
Bilawal said the PPP’s election manifesto included a commitment to grant Gilgit-Baltistan all constitutional rights. He said this would include the right to own land as well as financial protections linked to the 18th Constitutional Amendment.
The rally formed part of Bilawal’s wider election campaign in Gilgit-Baltistan before the upcoming polls on June 7.
