Asim Azhar reveals dream Indian collab

Asim Azhar has named Indian playback singer Arijit Singh as his dream collaboration, while acknowledging that current political tensions between Pakistan and India make any such project unrealistic at the moment.

Speaking on a television programme, Azhar was asked which Indian artist he would most like to work with. He responded by framing his answer as hypothetical, pointing directly to the strained cross-border environment.

“Hypothetically, because right now the political situation is such that neither they can work here nor we can work there, but people still have love and admiration. And yes, if I had the chance to collaborate with any Indian singer, one name that immediately comes to mind is Arijit Singh,” he said.

Azhar’s remarks highlight a long-standing reality for artists on both sides of the border, where creative admiration often exists alongside restricted professional collaboration due to diplomatic and industry-level barriers.

The singer is currently touring internationally on his Asim Ali The Album Tour 2026, named after his 2025 debut album Asim Ali. The tour began on April 11 in Houston, Texas, and spans 18 shows across 16 cities, concluding on May 17 in Detroit, Michigan, with additional stops in the United Kingdom.

Azhar first rose to prominence through Coke Studio Pakistan in 2015, where he became one of the youngest artists featured on the platform. He has since built a mainstream pop career with widely recognised tracks including Tera Woh Pyar, Ghalat Fehmi, and Jo Tu Na Mila.

His comments have once again brought attention to the creative overlap between Pakistani and Indian music industries — and how political realities continue to shape artistic possibilities.
