KARACHI: A man and his son died after a trailer struck their motorcycle in Karachi’s Baldia Town on Monday, while in a separate incident, another man was stabbed to death in Azam Basti, police said.

A traffic police official said the crash took place near the Edhi graveyard on the road leading to Musharraf Colony. According to the official, a recklessly driven trailer hit motorcycle KJY-3668, which was carrying two riders without helmets. Both victims fell to the road and suffered serious injuries before being taken to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, where they died during treatment.

The deceased were identified as 60-year-old Abdul Majeed and his 30-year-old son Abdul Jabbar. Police took the motorcycle into custody, while the trailer driver fled from the spot along with the heavy vehicle. Relatives said the two men worked as masons and were heading to their jobs when the collision occurred. They also said Abdul Jabbar was due to be married next month.

In another killing reported early on Monday, Mehmoodabad police said 38-year-old Aman Durrani was stabbed to death in Street 5 of Azam Basti following a personal dispute. His body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
