Ejaz Chaudhry shifted to Services Hospital after health worsens

LAHORE: Former senator Ejaz Chaudhry was moved to Services Hospital after his condition worsened in jail, on Tuesday.

The transfer was carried out after doctors advised that he be shifted immediately for medical treatment. Prison authorities subsequently moved him to the hospital on medical advice.

Sources said Chaudhry had previously been taken to the same hospital several times for medical examinations. He had earlier remained under medical supervision because of an eye infection as well as heart and blood pressure complications.

Following his latest transfer, a team of doctors began a comprehensive medical examination at Services Hospital.

Medical transfer after deterioration in jail

The development came after Chaudhry’s health deteriorated while he was in custody. The available information indicates that doctors recommended urgent hospital care, leading prison officials to arrange his transfer.

He has undergone medical assessments on multiple earlier occasions as well. His prior health issues, included an eye infection and complications related to his heart and blood pressure.

At the hospital, doctors initiated a detailed evaluation of his condition. No further medical findings were provided in the report.

Previous hospital visits

Chaudhry has been brought to the hospital more than once in the past for check-ups, sources said. His latest move to Services Hospital follows those earlier examinations and periods of medical supervision.

Prison authorities acted on the advice of doctors in shifting the former senator for treatment. A medical team is now examining him comprehensively at the hospital.
