LAHORE: The Punjab government allowed PTI Senator Ejaz Chaudhry to undergo a medical examination at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, where tests showed a further decline in his kidney condition.
Senator Chaudhry, who is currently imprisoned at Kot Lakhpat jail, is suffering from heart and kidney-related illnesses. His health has worsened amid a delay in medical treatment.
The senator is suffering from Stage-III kidney disease. During the latest medical visit, doctors at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology carried out blood tests and other examinations.
His son, Advocate Ali Chaudhry, shared details of the hospital visit in a post on X, formerly Twitter. He said Senator Chaudhry had been taken to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, where doctors present conducted blood and other investigations.
According to Advocate Ali Chaudhry, the blood test results showed that his father’s kidneys had deteriorated further.

The development came after the Punjab government permitted the jailed senator’s medical check-up at the Lahore-based cardiac hospital. The examination revealed that the condition of his kidneys had worsened.
Senator Chaudhry remains lodged in Kot Lakhpat jail while dealing with multiple health complications, including cardiac and kidney ailments. The delay in treatment has reportedly contributed to the deterioration in his condition.
No additional medical details were provided in the report beyond the findings from the tests conducted at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology.
The case has drawn attention because of the senator’s existing health issues, particularly his Stage-III kidney disease and heart condition, both of which were cited in the report on his latest medical assessment.
The latest update centres on the findings from the hospital examination and the account shared by his son following the visit. The tests carried out at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology pointed to a worsening of the senator’s kidney health.
Published in Dawn on April 26, 2026, the medical check-up was allowed by the Punjab government and that the results showed Senator Ejaz Chaudhry’s kidneys had deteriorated further.
