A Pakistani national has been killed in Abu Dhabi after debris from an intercepted ballistic missile fell in a residential area, marking another casualty linked to the ongoing regional conflict.
According to authorities, the incident occurred in the Baniyas area where UAE air defence systems successfully intercepted a missile, but falling fragments struck the ground and caused the fatality.
The death is part of a growing pattern of civilian casualties resulting from interception debris, even as most incoming missiles and drones are neutralised before impact. Officials said the latest incident brings the total number of deaths in recent attacks in the UAE to seven, including at least three Pakistani nationals.
Pakistan’s embassy in the UAE expressed condolences and said it is coordinating with local authorities to support the victim’s family and complete repatriation arrangements.
Earlier incidents include the death of a Pakistani driver in Dubai’s Al Barsha area after debris struck his vehicle, and another Pakistani national killed in Abu Dhabi at the start of the conflict.
The incidents come amid escalating tensions following military exchanges involving Iran, the United States and Israel, with Gulf countries increasingly exposed to spillover risks. Despite high interception rates by UAE defence systems, falling debris has continued to pose a threat to civilians in populated areas.
Authorities have urged residents to rely on official information and avoid spreading unverified reports, as security measures remain heightened across the country.
