ISLAMABAD: Another Pakistani national lost their life in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday after being struck by debris from a missile interception in Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Media Office confirmed.
This tragic incident brings the total number of Pakistanis killed in the UAE due to falling missile debris amid the ongoing US-Israel conflict with Iran to four.
According to the Media Office, the incident occurred on Sweihan Street and involved debris from a ballistic missile interception. The initial report cited the deaths of two unidentified individuals, along with three injuries and damage to several vehicles. A later update confirmed that the deceased included one Pakistani and one Indian national.
Three others — from the UAE, Jordan, and India — sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious. Authorities urged the public to rely only on official sources and avoid spreading unverified information.
The Pakistan Embassy in the UAE expressed grief over the latest loss and pledged full support to the bereaved family. “In this difficult time, we stand with the family, offering our heartfelt condolences and prayers,” the embassy stated, adding that it was coordinating closely with local authorities to ensure the earliest possible repatriation of the deceased.
This marks the fourth Pakistani fatality from missile debris in the UAE since the conflict began. Previous deaths include Mureed Zaman on February 28, a driver in Dubai’s Al Barsha on March 8, and another victim on March 17. Separately, a fisherman from Gwadar was killed on March 8 in Iranian waters after debris from an Israeli projectile intercepted by Iranian air defenses struck his boat.
The series of incidents underscores the escalating risks faced by civilians amid the ongoing Middle East hostilities.
