KARACHI: Authorities have deployed 22,000 police personnel across Karachi to ensure security during the observance of Youm-e-Ali, which marks the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA), as reported by officials.

According to the Express Tribune, the Sindh police have implemented extensive security measures for the processions and gatherings scheduled for Youm-e-Ali. The police deployment includes officers from various units, with additional support from the Special Branch and Rapid Response Force. Law enforcement agencies have also established a comprehensive security plan to monitor the main procession routes and sensitive locations throughout the city.

Officials stated that the main procession will be closely monitored through surveillance cameras, and snipers have been positioned at key points along the route. In addition, police commandos will be stationed at strategic locations to respond to any potential threats. The authorities have also arranged for the deployment of bomb disposal squads and have coordinated with other law enforcement agencies to ensure a secure environment for participants.
