Security plan finalised for Youm-i-Ali procession in Quetta
Quetta Police have finalised a security plan for the Youm-i-Ali procession, deploying over 1,500 officers and sealing entry and exit points. Bomb Disposal Squad teams will conduct searches to ensure safety.

QUETTA: Deputy Inspector General of Police Imran Shoukat announced on Monday that a comprehensive security plan has been put in place for the upcoming Youm-i-Ali procession in Quetta.
Speaking to the media, DIG Imran Shoukat stated that over 1,500 police officers and personnel, including female officers, will be deployed to ensure law and order and safeguard participants during the procession. He emphasized that stringent security measures will be implemented, with all entry and exit points along the procession route being sealed to prevent any unauthorized access.
The DIG further explained that teams from the Bomb Disposal Squad will conduct thorough sweeping and searching operations prior to the commencement of the procession to eliminate any potential threats. He assured that Quetta Police are making “foolproof arrangements” to bolster security throughout the holy month of Ramazan, particularly during its last ten days and on the occasion of Eid.
According to DIG Imran Shoukat, the security plan for the Youm-i-Ali procession, which will take place on the 19th of Ramazan, has been formulated under the supervision of SSP Operations Asif Khan. The plan includes enhanced security protocols along the procession route and at all points of entry and exit.
The police official reiterated the commitment of law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and security during religious events, highlighting the importance of these measures in ensuring the safety of citizens during significant occasions.
