48 more Gazans killed as Israel keeps up ‘systemic bombing’ of civilian infrastructure

GAZA: At least 48 people have been killed across the Palestinian enclave and among the dead, 32 people were killed in Gaza City as Israel keeps up attacks amid Rubio’s Tel Aviv visit on Sunday, the Gaza Health Ministry reported.

The ministry said that the situation in Gaza is “very….. very” critical amid Israeli attacks across Gaza since dawn. Among the dead, 32 people were killed in Gaza City, where Israel has intensified its operations.

The continued Israeli attacks come during US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to Israel today.

Meanwhile, Gaza’s government media office has said Israel was carrying out “systematic bombing of towers, residential buildings, schools and civilian institutions with the aim of extermination and forced displacement” in the enclave, Al Jazeera reports.

“While it claims to be targeting the resistance, the field realities prove beyond doubt that the occupation deliberately and according to a clear methodology bombs schools, mosques, hospitals and medical centres, destroys towers and residential buildings, destroys displaced persons’ tents,” it said in a statement.

The office further said Israel “targets the headquarters of various institutions, including international institutions working in the humanitarian field”.

Israeli forces destroy al-Kawthar residential tower in Gaza City

Israeli forces have destroyed the al-Kawthar residential tower in Gaza City’s Al-Rimal neighbourhood, “less than two hours after residents were warned to leave”, an Al Jazeera correspondent on the ground reports.

In a post on Telegram, the Israeli army, without providing any evidence, alleged that Hamas was using the tower as an information-gathering base.

Israel warn citizens abroad not to publish any evidence of military service on social media

In related development, the Israeli National Security Council has warned Israelis against advertising Israeli military service on social media and revealing their real-time location, Al Jazeera reports.

Israeli soldiers have been posting social media videos of themselves destroying infrastructure in Gaza since the start of the war.

Any armed group has not targeted them but has been the subject of legal cases opened by organisations like the Hind Rijab Foundation, which has pulled together lawyers and activists from around the world to prepare cases, primarily based on social media content.
