Youm-e-Tashakur being observed to thank Allah Almighty for the magnificent victory of Pakistan against the blatant aggression and provocation of India: PM
ISLAMABAD/LAHORE/KARACHI/PESHAWAR: Youm-e-Tashakur was celebrated across the country, including AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan with national fervor on Friday to celebrate the victory in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq while reiterating support for the brave armed forces.
The day dawned with special prayers in Mosques and recitation of Holy Quran. Thirty-one gun salute after Fajr prayer in the federal capital and twenty one gun salute at provincial capitals boomed out to mark the Day.
Flag hoisting ceremonies and public rallies were held across the country as part of the nationwide observance announced by the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Flag hoisting ceremonies were organized at Air Headquarters Islamabad, Badaber Base Peshawar and PAF academies at Risalpur and Korangi in Karachi.
Floral wreaths were laid at the memorials of the martyrs and Fateha was recited.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif hoisted national flag at Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad in connection with “Youm-e-Tashakur”.
The Prime Minister, on the occasion said, today “Youm-e-Tashakur” is being observed to thank Allah Almighty for the magnificent victory of Pakistan against the blatant aggression and provocation of India.
He said India, while demonstrating cowardice, attacked Pakistan on the night of 6th and 7th of this month, resulting in the martyrdom and injuries of innocent Pakistanis. He said Indian aggression compelled Pakistan to respond.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan is a peaceful country, but it reserves right to give a befitting response in its defence.
He said the valiant and professional armed forces of Pakistan responded befittingly and effectively to India and wrote a golden chapter in the military history of the country.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to martyrs of Marka-e-Haq.
In their messages on Youm-e-Tashakur, they said the day is being observed to thank Allah Almighty for the magnificent victory of Pakistan against the open aggression of India.
President Asif Ali Zardari said Pakistan will never compromise on its sovereignty, territorial integrity and core national interests.
He said it is a great moment for us to celebrate the victory of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos in response to Indian unprovoked aggression.
In his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said brave and professional armed forces of Pakistan effectively responded in the language of the enemy and wrote a golden chapter in the military history.
The Prime Minister said our Shaheens hammered the enemy and gave it a befitting reply.
He said this is not only victory of our Armed Forces but also success of our principles as honorable and dignified nation.
In Lahore, a ceremony was held at Mazar-i-Iqbal in connection with Youm-e-Tashakur.
On the occasion, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan laid a wreath at the Mazar and offered Fateha.
Likewise, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at CM Secretariat during which Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif hoisted national flag along with cabinet members.
In Karachi, ‘Battle of Truth’ rally was arranged at Sindh Secretariat during which Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah hoisted national flag.
The day began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, special prayers for the Islamic republic of Pakistan and nation and a gun salute. Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Muhammad Avais Dastgir, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) visited the Quaid’s mausoleum on the occasion of Youm-e-Tashakur and laid a floral wreath at the mausoleum of the Father of Nation, besides offering Fateha.
A flag hoisting ceremony was also held in Karachi Corps.
Another ceremony was held at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada, Malir Garrison in connection with Youm-e-Tashakur. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Corps Commander Karachi Lt-Gen Avais Dastgir visited Yadgar-e-Shuhada, laid floral wreath and offered Fateha.
On this special occasion, other ministers, Chief Secretary Sindh, senior civil and military officers were also present. A decorated contingent of the Pakistan Army presented a salute at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada. On the occasion, the Sindh CM and Corps Commander Karachi met with the families of the martyrs and paid tribute to their sacrifices for the sake of the motherland.
The Corps Commander Karachi, while talking to the families of the martyrs said that our Pakistani forces defeated the enemy due to the high morale and spirit of faith. “Our martyrs are our assets and because of their sacrifices, today we were able to act as Bunyanunum Marsoos against the enemy”, Lt-Gen Avais Dastgir stated.
Events were also held in other districts of Sindh, including Pano Aqil, Hyderabad Garrisons, Pakistan Coast Guards and Sindh Rangers Headquarters. Youm-e-Tashakur was also celebrated by Pakistan Police and other civil institutions and segments of society to mark the success of the country’s Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
Compensation package for families of martyrs and injured of operation Bunyanum Marsoos
Meanwhile, Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday revealed that seven individuals from Sindh were martyred during the Indian attack.
As per details, the martyred includes six personnel of the Pakistan Air Force in Bolari and one civilian, Mukhtiar Leghari, in Ghotki, for whom he announced compensation of Rs10 million each for the families of the martyrs and Rs1 million for injured individuals.
He made these statements while talking to the media just after performing a flag-hoisting ceremony at the New Sindh Secretariat to mark Pakistan’s National Day of Gratitude as a result of the country’s successful retaliation against Indian aggression.
While delivering a powerful and patriotic address at a flag-hoisting ceremony, the Chief Minister praised the valour of Pakistan’s armed forces, stating that “defending the homeland is every Pakistani’s foremost duty” and that the nation is proud of its brave sons who gave a befitting response to Indian aggression.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the flag hoisting ceremony was held at Governor House, Peshawar where Governor Faisal Karim Kundi hoisted the national flag.
A ceremony was also held at Kernal Sher Khan Shaheed mausoleum in Swabi. Inspector General Frontier Crops North Anjum Riaz laid a floral wreath and offered fateha.
In Gilgit Baltistan, flag hoisting ceremony was held at Yaadgar-e-Shuhada in Skardu.
Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah laid floral wreaths at the memorial of martyrs and offered fateha.
Another flag hoisting ceremony was held at the historic Chinaar Bagh in Gilgit.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan hoisted the flag and paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs.
He also laid a floral wreath at the memorial of Shuhada at Chinaar Bagh in Gilgit.
