Scorching heat in Hyderabad continues as power outages disrupt daily life

Hyderabad continues to suffer from intense heat, with temperatures reaching 41°C on Sunday. Although a brief spell of rain provided temporary relief in the evening, widespread power outages followed, leaving many areas without electricity for hours.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department recorded the maximum temperature at 41°C, with humidity at 37%. After a brief drizzle in parts of Latifabad, Qasimabad, and central Hyderabad, power disruptions occurred, especially in areas like Latifabad Unit No.6 and Muslim Rajput Colony, where outages lasted up to four hours. The power failures also impacted water supply, as pumping stations were unable to operate, leaving residents without drinking water during crucial hours. Despite numerous complaints, HESCO officials could not be reached for comment.
