Mehwish Hayat’s tribute to Nazia Hassan sparks mixed reactions

Actor and singer Mehwish Hayat recently paid tribute to the late legend Nazia Hassan by performing her iconic 1982 hit “Boom Boom” at a disco party in Dubai.

Despite her heartfelt rendition, the performance left some fans disappointed.

Clad in a long black dress, Mehwish captivated her audience with her rendition of the classic song, swaying to the music amidst flashing lights.

However, as a short video of Mehwish’s performance circulated on social media, reactions from fans of the late singer varied widely. Some criticized Mehwish’s rendition, suggesting she could have honored Nazia Hassan better by not singing at all. Others were more blunt, urging her not to sing again, while one viewer even called for a “2-minute silence” after watching the video.

Despite the mixed reception to her tribute, Mehwish continues to thrive in her showbiz career. Recently, she starred in the lead role in “Daghabaaz Dil” and has been making headlines for her collaboration with renowned Bollywood rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh. Although the song is yet to be released, Mehwish has teased fans by promising that it will be “awesome,” ensuring they are in for a treat.
