0.1m farmers committed suicide during BJP rule: Samajwadi Party

LUCKNOW: The President of Samajwadi Party in India, Akhilesh Yadav, has said that nearly 0.1 million farmers have committed suicide since the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power in the country.

Akhilesh Yadav in a statement said the farmers’ demand for minimum support price (MSP) is legitimate so it should be implemented and there should be a legal guarantee because agriculture is the backbone of the economy.

He said if farmers and agriculture in the country will be destroyed, it will also have a bad effect on the economy. He further said the upcoming general elections are very important. “If we want to save our Constitution and democracy then BJP has to be wiped out,” he added.

Akhilesh Yadav said on one side some want to protect the Constitution and, on the other, there are those who want to abolish the Constitution.

He said those who came to power in 2014 are going to be out of power in 2024. He said that Hitler was also in power for ten years and now Modi has also completed ten years so now he also has to go.

‘Modi govt’s policies negatively impacted every sector of society’

The President of Indian National Congress chapter in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Vikar Rasool Wani, has said that under the ten-year rule of the Bharatiya Janata Party, every sector of society has suffered greatly in various aspects.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Vikar Rasool Wani addressing a meeting of his party workers in Banihal, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, said that every sector of society, particularly the people of Kashmir, had been negatively impacted by the policies and decisions of the Modi government.

He highlighted that the Modi government had deprived the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir of their rights to jobs and land by converting it into a union territory.

He added that issues such as property tax, toll plazas, smart meters and unemployment had further exacerbated the hardships faced by the people of the occupied territory.

Wani also criticised the administration led by LG Manoj Sinha in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, describing it as a failure in meeting the needs of the people. He asserted that the J&K administration, controlled by the BJP, has only brought more suffering to the people.
