Pak-China-Afghan strategic dialogue to strength regional stability: Abdul Qadir

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources Senator Abdul Qadir on Saturday said the strategic dialogue between the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, China and Afghanistan are very important and welcomed to establish an atmosphere of trust and cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan for regional peace and stability.

In a press statement, he viewed that the visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister will strengthen bilateral relations as well as Pakistan-Afghanistan relations will be boosted with the effective role of China.

He said that Pakistan and China are strategic partners and iron friends. Chinese Foreign Minister Chen Geng’s visit to Pakistan will strengthen strategic ties between the two countries and make practical cooperation more effective, integrated and deepened.

He said that the Chinese leadership believes in the philosophy of economic development and elimination of regional differences.

Qadir said that Afghan Interim Foreign Minister is also on a visit to Pakistan along with a high-level delegation, whose arrival in Pakistan is of extraordinary importance in view of the situation in both countries and the region. The strategic dialogue between the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, China and Afghanistan is very important and welcome.

He said that during the visit, the strategic cooperation partnership between Pakistan and China will be confirmed and a roadmap for multilateral cooperation will be prepared.

He said that the visit of the Chinese Foreign Minister to Pakistan is a manifestation of frequent talks between the officials of the two countries. Pakistan and Afghanistan also need to continue discussing bilateral issues at the official level.

He said that there is an urgent need to establish an atmosphere of trust and cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan for regional peace and stability. Both countries are suffering from insecurity and terrorism. If the two countries find a lasting solution to their mutual differences, terrorists will not get a chance to destroy the peace of the region.

He said that there is a need to promote trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Increased trade is only possible due to the development of political and diplomatic relations.

He further said that China has played its positive role in improving the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia and in the future.
