DC says district leading in development work across division

MULTAN: Ali Anan Qamar, deputy commissioner of Muzaffargarh, added another feather to his cap by leading the district in development across the division of Dera Ghazi Khan.

This was revealed in a progress review video link meeting chaired by Liaqat Ali Chatha, commissioner of Dera Ghazi Khan, here. Anam Hafeez, deputy director for planning, told the meeting that 392 development projects worth Rs20 billion were underway in the district in the current financial year.

She added that 19 new development schemes amounting to the tune of Rs7 billion have been added in the current fiscal year.

It is worth mentioning here that Qamar himself is reviewing the progress and quality of ongoing development in the district. He has directed the authorities to make all-out efforts to complete the development stipulated time frame.

He has further directed departments to expedite work on development projects in various parts of the district and set a deadline for their completion. He also ordered officials to ensure transparency and quality of work in the execution of different projects, especially those related to buildings, roads and the public health engineering department.

Meanwhile, Chatha appreciated his efforts and Jamil Haider Shah, assistant commissioner under Qamar, for exhibiting keen interest in development schemes for the welfare of the public in the district.
