Mountaineers set world record by hoisting giant national flag at Godar Pass

SWAT: Pakistan’s eight-member mountaineers, team set a new world record by hoisting a 200-feet-long and 20-feet-wide national flag on a hilltop at Godar Pass, located at an altitude of 14,500 feet between Bahrain and Kalam in the Swat Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The climbers also captured the view of the natural glacier tunnel in the eye of the camera. The mountaineering team members completed this important mission in four days by trekking from Kedam along rocky and difficult trails led by Mohammad Rahim, a local mountaineer from Swat and Saqib Rehman, a mountaineer from Multan. Apart from Swat, the trekkers also included from Punjab and Islamabad as well.

“His team hoisted the 200×20 square feet national flag on the snow-capped peak of Godar Pass and made Pakistan’s name known all over the world.” Saqib Rehman claimed.

“These young mountaineers also climbed the highest peak of the mountain range near Godar pass which is 16000 feet above sea level and named their success after the martyrs of Pak Army including Colonel Sher Khan Shaheed.” Saqib added.

Earlier, the Kuwaiti volunteer team “K Flag” in February 2019  had the national flag of Kuwait measuring 2,742 square meters  and hoisted the highest mountain in the Arab world, Jabal Shams, in Oman, and the height of this mountain was 3,028 meters above sea level.

While Pakistani mountaineer Saqib Rehman claimed that we broke the world record of Kuwait by hoisting the highest peak of Swat at an altitude of 4450 meters above sea level by hoisting the national flag on the ice.
