Amir says Imam is the ‘best white-ball player’ in Pakistan team

Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has rated opener Imam-ul-Haq as the ‘best white-ball player of Pakistan’ currently.

The 26-year-old Imam, who doesn’t feature in playing Xi of Pakistan’s T20I side, has been in phenomenal touch in ODIs lately.

The left-hander has scored seven consecutive fifty-plus scores in ODI cricket. He is only the second batter in the history of ODIs to do so. Legendary Pakistan batter Javed Miandad holds the record for scoring the most consecutive fifty-plus scores in this format (9).

Quetta Gladiators Head of Player Acquisition/Manager Nabeel Hashmi highlighted Imam’s phenomenal run and his performances get overshadowed due to Babar Azam’s brilliance.

While quoting Hashmi’s tweet, Amir rated Imam over Babar as the best white-ball player in the side.

It must be noted that Imam is only behind Babar Azam and India’s Virat Kohli in ICC Men’s ODI Rankings for batters. He has scored 2520 runs in 52 innings at an average of 55+.
