AAC pays homage to Molvi Mushtaq on martyrdom anniversary

SRINAGAR: The Awami Action Committee (AAC) headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has paid rich tributes to its leader and socio-political activist Shaheed-e-Masjid Molvi Mushtaq Ahmed on his 18th martyrdom anniversary observed in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

The AAC in a statement issued in Srinagar said that late Mushtaq Sahab was an extremely kind and compassionate soul who helped the poor and needy throughout his life. “He believed in and strived for the party’s basic ideology of peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute. He even bore the hardships of prison and interrogations in jail for his beliefs when in October 1965 he along with Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq was arrested and kept in jail for more than two years,” it said.

The statement said, also under the present head of the organisation Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to be under house arrest for the last three years, Moulvi Mushtaq worked side by side to strengthen the AAC and take forward its programmes along with the top leadership of the organisation as well as general workers.

The AAC will organised a Qur’an recitation and prayer session tomorrow after noon prayers at its central office Mirwaiz Manzil Srinagar in which prayers and Fateha will be offered in favour of Shaheed-e-Masjid, Shaheed-e-Millat, all the martyrs and the late leaders and workers of the organisation.

The AAC has appealed to the imams of the mosques to arrange special prayers during the five daily prayers for the elevation of the ranks of all the martyrs including Shaheed-e-Masjid and for the welfare of the people of Kashmir.Posters appear to expose India’s anti-Kashmir designs in IIOJK In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, posters have once again appeared in Srinagar and other areas to record the Kashmiris’ protest against the divisive policies being pursued by India’s BJP and RSS regime in the territory.

The posters were displayed by the Jammu and Kashmir Students and Youth Forum (JKSF), Political Resistance Movement (JKPRM) and various other pro-freedom organisations.

“Hindutva rulers are targeting Kashmir youth” and “Indian anti-Kashmir policy is a big threat to peace in the region,” the posters read.

Serious concern was expressed over the silence of the United Nations and world community on Indian aggression in Kashmir. The posters said the Modi-led fascist Indian regime is changing the demography of the Muslim majority in IIOJK by different tactics and is misleading the international community about the actual ground situation of the territory.

“Indian state has caged us and is terrorizing, targeting, killing, harassing and arresting the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” the posters added.
