PCB likely to announce squad for West Indies ODIs by May 20

The national squad for the ODI series against the West Indies is expected to be announced by May 20 while the camp is likely to be held in Lahore from May 23 or 24.

According to sources, team captain Babar Azam, selectors, coach Saqlain Mushtaq and PCB officials were consulted for the series against West Indies last month.

The details of the camp and squad will be formally announced after the logistics issues are finalised. There won’t be many changes in the ODI squad which last featured in home series against Australia

In view of the expected political situation in Rawalpindi, it has been discussed to hold the camp in Lahore.

PCB will also confirm the backup venue of Rawalpindi in the due course. The ODIs between between Pakistan and West Indies are scheduled for June 8, 10 and 12 at Pindi Cricket Stadium, but the expected long march of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf in Islamabad has put Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to think over a possible change in venue for the ODI series against the West Indies.
