Official: Asia Cup 2022 to kick off from August 27 in Sri Lanka

The Asia Cricket Council (ACC) has announced that Asia Cup 2022 will kick off from August 27 in Sri Lanka.

The qualifiers for the tournament, which will follow the T20 format, will be played from August 20 whereas the main tournament will commence from August 27.

The final of the tournament will be played of September 11.

Pakistan was represented at the meeting in Colombo by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja. He attended the meeting virtually.

The meeting also approved the appointment of Qatar as a full board member from Associate.

The term of the executive board members, including ACC President J. Shah, was extended for two years.
