Rizwan surpasses Guptill to become the best T20I hitter in 2021

Mohammad Rizwan has had a golden year in T20 international cricket in 2021 and there are no surprise that most records from the calendar year also belong to the man of the moment.

After becoming the only player in T20 history to cross the 2,000-runs mark, Rizwan has now surpassed Kiwi opener Martin Guptill to become the best hitter in T20Is in 2021.

Martin Guptill held the record for most sixes in 2021 with 41. However, this was surpassed by Rizwan following his match-winning knock against West Indies in the third and final T20I of the series.

Rizwan, who scored 87 from just 45 deliveries, hit three sixes during the innings which took lifted him to the first spot.

In addition to this, Mohammad Rizwan is also the first player in T20I to hit over 100 boundaries in a calendar year, which is another record that belongs to him now to showcase his remarkable 2021 performances.

Rizwan also proved himself to be the best T20 batsman across the globe. The previous record for most runs scored in a calendar year was held by West Indian Chris Gayle. But now Rizwan and Babar have surpassed Gayle with their phenomenal performances.
