The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Thursday disqualified provincial minister of excise and taxation Babu Ameen Umrani for holding fake degree.
Petitioner Niaz Muhammad had challenged the degree of MPA Babu Ameen Umrani, who was elected from the constituency PB-29, Naseerabad 2.
BHC has directed the Election Commission of Pakistan to hold by-election for PB-29 seat. The court also directed the ECP to register case against Umrani for contesting election on fake degree.
Meanwhile, in another case the court reserved its verdict regarding eligibility of provincial minister of communication Ali Madad Jattak.
The court will announce the verdict of Ali Madad Jattak’s eligibility case next week.
