PESHAWAR: Four members of the same family were shot dead in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Bannu district in the early hours of Sunday in an incident linked to a property dispute, according to Rescue 1122 and police.
The shooting took place in the Odeen Kallay area of Domel late at night. Rescue 1122 said those killed included a father, his two sons and another victim described as a close relative. Its medical teams reached the site after receiving the report and shifted the bodies to the Domel Rural Health Centre.
The killings stemmed from a property dispute. Domel police were in the process of registering a case and had started an investigation into the incident.
The shooting came amid broader security concerns in the province. Pakistan's security situation worsened sharply in May 2026 after showing improvement for two straight months, mainly because of escalating militant violence in KP and Balochistan. The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan has also voiced concern over the marked deterioration in security in the two provinces. On Friday, officials said two police constables were killed in separate targeted attacks in Bannu district.
