Sindh court enforces free admissions quota in private schools

KARACHI: Following directives from the Sindh High Court, private schools across Sindh have been legally bound to provide free education to 10 percent of their students.

In response to the ruling, the Sindh government, along with the Directorate of Private Institutions, has issued instructions to ensure strict enforcement of the order.

Private schools have also been directed to submit documentary evidence confirming that eligible students are being enrolled without fees. Authorities have warned that institutions failing to comply with the requirement of zero-fee admissions will face strict action under the Sindh Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2013.

Officials further stated that any violation of the order would result in personal responsibility being fixed on the concerned officers, underscoring the government’s intent to ensure full implementation of the court’s decision.
