Court closes two Azadi March cases against former PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: A court in the federal capital on Wednesday disposed of two cases registered against former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan in connection with the Haqeeqi Azadi March held in 2022.

Judicial Magistrate Azhar Nadeem heard the cases during the proceedings.

Counsel for the former prime minister, Sardar Muhammad Masroof Advocate, informed the court that both cases were registered in 2022 and that several other accused nominated in the same matters had already been acquitted. He said the acquittal petition filed on behalf of his client had remained pending for the past two years.

The lawyer further told the court that Imran Khan was not being produced before the court and requested an adjournment to present arguments on the acquittal plea. He added that the court also had the option to dispose of the cases.

Following the submissions, the court disposed of both cases.

According to case records, the two cases were registered at Kohsar Police Station in Islamabad in connection with the Azadi March.
