Chinese firm in Gwadar cleared to export donkey meat to China

ISLAMABAD: A Chinese company operating in the Gwadar North Free Zone has secured formal approval to export donkey meat to China, following clearance from the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC).

According to a report by Gwadar Pro, the company, Hangeng, obtained the licence after GACC carried out an online inspection to assess its operational processes and procedures in line with prescribed regulatory requirements.

With all licensing conditions fulfilled, exports are expected to commence next week. A Hangeng official told Gwadar Pro that the approval marked the successful completion of all required inspections, certifications and regulatory formalities.

The official said the first consignment will be dispatched to China using the company’s facilities in the Gwadar North Free Zone, including a newly established slaughterhouse developed for this purpose.

He added that the company plans to export around 50 containers of donkey meat to China each month once regular shipments begin.
