LAHORE: The District Education Authority Lahore has imposed a complete ban on street vendors operating along school boundary walls, citing security concerns across the city.
In an official notification, the authority directed heads of all public and private schools to ensure that no carts selling fruit, vegetables, or other items are allowed near school premises or attached to boundary walls.
The instructions apply to all schools in Lahore. School heads have been instructed to immediately inform the relevant authorities if any vendor is seen operating near school walls.
If a vendor is not removed, zonal heads are required to report the matter to the assistant commissioner of the concerned tehsil.
The authority said that during monitoring, if any cart is found outside a school or attached to its boundary wall, responsibility will lie directly with the school head. In such cases, disciplinary action will be initiated against the concerned official.
According to District Education Authority Lahore, the decision has been taken to ensure safety and security of students across the city.
