DG ISPR engages scholars in at Jamia Tur Rasheed visit

KARACHI: Director General Inter Services Public Relations Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry visited Jamia Tur Rasheed and held an open question and answer session with students and religious scholars, the military said on Sunday.

The DG ISPR was received by the seminary’s patron Mufti Abdur Raheem and senior members of the faculty before he joined the gathering.

According to the ISPR, participants described the interaction as a constructive exchange that helped strengthen confidence between the Pakistan Army and the wider public. Students and teachers thanked the DG ISPR for addressing their queries and reiterated their commitment to national unity and support for the armed forces.

Jamia Tur Rasheed later released a video featuring a student recounting his discussion with the DG ISPR on the application of Islamic law in Pakistan. Students said the session allowed them to raise questions on subjects ranging from the TTP and Afghanistan to the stance of the TLP, adding that several misconceptions were addressed directly.

Speaking to reporters, one student said the military was protecting both the state and the faith of the people. The event ended with scholars and students offering special thanks to the DG ISPR and expressing confidence in the army’s role in safeguarding the country.
