Authorities detain another suspect linked to Islamabad judicial suicide bombing

ISLAMABAD: Security agencies on Saturday arrested another key facilitator involved in the Islamabad Judicial Complex suicide attack, officials confirmed.

The suspect played a crucial role in assisting the suicide bomber. Intelligence officials also detained the tailor who worked on the explosive vest used in the attack. Investigators revealed that the suicide jacket had been prepared in Peshawar, where the explosive materials were delivered prior to assembly.

Authorities said the facilitator transported the completed jacket to Islamabad concealed inside a sack of jaggery and hid it under a tree for three days to avoid detection. The jacket was later taken to a tailor for final adjustments, with the tailor reportedly aware that it was intended for a suicide attack.

Officials stated that the arrest has opened new leads in the ongoing investigation. The suspect has confessed to having ties with Fitna al-Khawarij, the extremist network believed responsible for the attack.

Security agencies said the network supporting the bomber was larger than initially thought, with multiple individuals providing operational and logistical assistance. Authorities are continuing efforts to track down all those involved in planning, facilitating, and executing the attack, and further arrests are expected as investigations progress.
