Bushra Bibi seeks early hearing of plea in £190m case

ISLAMABAD: Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court seeking an early hearing of her plea to suspend her sentence in the £190 million corruption case.

In the petition, she contended that under judicial policy, cases involving bail or sentence suspension are meant to be prioritised for swift hearings. She argued that her application was being subjected to undue delay without lawful justification.

Bushra Bibi maintained that the prolonged inaction on her plea constitutes a violation of the Women Protection Act and contravenes Supreme Court precedents mandating timely adjudication.

She has urged the court to fix her petition for hearing at the earliest and has named the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as a respondent in the case.
