ECP announces by-election schedule for five Punjab constituencies

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule for by-elections in five constituencies across Punjab, with polling set to take place on November 23.

According to the spokesperson for the Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab, the by-elections will be held in NA-96, NA-104, NA-143, PP-98, and PP-203 — covering areas of Faisalabad and Sahiwal.

The deadline for filing appeals against returning officers’ decisions is October 24, while appellate tribunals will decide on those appeals by October 31. The revised list of candidates will be published on November 1, and candidates will have until November 3 to withdraw their nominations. Election symbols will be allotted on November 4.

The ECP stated that the schedule was issued under the Election Act, 2017, and directed all authorities to ensure strict adherence to the code of conduct during the election process.
