Punjab sets new winter school timings

LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced revised winter school timings for all public and private educational institutions across the province, effective from October 16, 2025, and lasting until March 31, 2026.

Boys’ schools will operate from 8:45 am to 2:45 pm, Monday through Thursday, with Friday classes ending at 12:30 pm. Girls’ single-shift schools will have timings from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, with Friday classes concluding at 12:15 pm.

In double-shift boys’ schools, the first shift will run from 8:45 am to 12:45 pm (Monday to Thursday), with Friday classes ending at 12:30 pm. The second shift will be from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on weekdays, and from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Fridays.

For double-shift girls’ schools, the morning shift will operate from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm (Monday to Thursday) and until 12:15 pm on Fridays. The afternoon shift will run from 12:45 pm to 4:45 pm on weekdays, and from 1:45 pm to 4:45 pm on Fridays.

The government has stated that the adjustments are aimed at accommodating seasonal changes and ensuring an efficient academic schedule during the winter months. Schools are required to strictly follow the new timings to maintain consistency in teaching hours.
