LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled a major development package for Murree, focusing heavily on modern and eco-friendly transport solutions.
Speaking at a ceremony in the hill station, she confirmed the launch of a Green Line bus service with 15 buses, offering free travel for students, women, and senior citizens. She further revealed that a train service is also planned to ease traffic congestion by reducing the number of private vehicles entering Murree, ensuring smoother travel for visitors.
“These steps will provide safe, affordable, and environmentally friendly travel options for both residents and tourists,” she said.
Alongside transport initiatives, Maryam Nawaz announced the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre, which has already begun angiography and will soon introduce cardiac surgeries. Plans were also shared for a new hospital in Bhurban, upgrades to schools, a large-scale water supply scheme, and improved sanitation facilities.
She emphasized that Murree now has its own district administration with independent police, health, and education departments. Additionally, a dedicated tourism force has been formed to transform Murree into a world-class destination.
