Sindh announces launch of Pink Taxi Scheme for women in December

KARACHI: The Sindh government has confirmed that the much-awaited Pink Taxi Scheme for Women will officially launch in December, as announced by Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon.

The initiative, first revealed by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari last week, aims to ease transportation challenges faced by female students and working women. The announcement was made during a ceremony in Karachi, where the provincial government also distributed free electric Pink Scooters to women.

Bilawal emphasized that the project would improve daily commuting for women and highlighted other initiatives by the Sindh government, such as the Benazir Hari Card scheme to support small farmers affected by recent floods.
