Gujranwala girls sweep top positions in Lahore’s Azadi Cycle Race

LAHORE: Lahore witnessed a thrilling competition on Sunday as the Azadi Cycle Race concluded with a stunning victory for Gujranwala’s girls, who claimed all three top positions in the contest.

In the high-energy race, Ummah Hani Adnan of Gujranwala secured the first position, while Mintha Rabaab clinched second place and Maira Nadeem bagged the third position, making it a complete sweep for the city’s cyclists.

More than 50 cyclists from across Punjab participated in the event, adding to the excitement and spirit of competition. The race was organised as part of the Azadi celebrations and showcased the growing interest of young women in cycling.

Speaking after her win, Ummah Hani Adnan expressed her joy, saying, “Such competitive events are very rare, and winning here feels amazing.” Another participant, Asma Usman, lauded the participation of girls from various cities of Punjab, calling it a commendable step for women’s sports.

The race organisers pledged to create more opportunities for female cyclists in the future, ensuring that such platforms continue to inspire and promote young talent across the province.
