Government releases list of certified Umrah companies to combat fraud

The federal government has issued a list of certified Umrah companies to safeguard pilgrims from fraudulent practices. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has published the list of 113 certified operators for the Islamic year 1447 Hijri, available on its official website.

This move aims to prevent exploitation by unauthorized agents, offering Umrah pilgrims a trustworthy selection of companies. The ministry urges travelers to verify company details through its website before making any bookings.

Guidelines for pilgrims include ensuring that payments are made directly to certified companies’ bank accounts. Pilgrims are advised to obtain a payment receipt and a copy of the agreement to avoid any disputes.
