ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday reaffirmed the government’s resolve to develop the Federal Constabulary (FC) on modern lines, announcing the relocation of its headquarters from Peshawar to Islamabad.
Chairing a meeting at the CDA headquarters, the minister directed officials to identify suitable land for the new headquarters and prepare a master plan, ensuring that the training and operational requirements of the force were prioritized.
He said the federal government had decided in principle to shift the FC headquarters to the federal capital, adding that the new facility would be built on modern foundations to transform the force into a well-organized and highly efficient unit.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Federal Secretary Interior, the Commandant and Deputy Commandant of the FC, CDA Chairman, IG Islamabad Police and DC Islamabad.
