LAHORE: A senior woman officer of Punjab Police has brought pride to Pakistan by winning the Excellence in Performance Award 2025 from the International Association of Women Police (IAWP).
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, SP Ayesha Butt, currently serving as City Traffic Officer (CTO) Gujranwala, received the prestigious award at the IAWP’s 62nd Annual Conference held in Glasgow, Scotland. The award was presented by IAWP President Julia Jaeger during a ceremony attended by more than 300 women police officers from over 40 countries.
The Excellence in Performance Award is conferred annually on one outstanding woman police officer worldwide in recognition of exceptional community service. SP Ayesha Butt was chosen for her remarkable contributions in traffic safety policing and for her efforts to strengthen trust between the public and police.
Punjab Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwar congratulated SP Ayesha Butt, calling her achievement “a source of pride not only for the Punjab Police but for the entire nation.” He added that her recognition stands as an inspiring example for all women police officers in Pakistan.
