Rs15.6 million looted from Korean seafood staff in Karachi

KARACHI: Six armed robbers, riding two motorcycles, looted Rs15.6 million in cash from staff members of a Korean seafood export company near Keamari Fish Harbour. The robbers intercepted the staff’s vehicle as they approached the company’s gate, snatching the cash bag at gunpoint.

In the robbery, the security guard accompanying the staff did not take any action and was also disarmed by the robbers. The police have obtained CCTV footage and other evidence related to the crime. The company’s accountant and the security guard have been detained for questioning.

According to the company’s statement, the looted cash was meant for employee bonuses. The police are investigating the incident further.
