Forgery ring dismantled in Abbottabad; suspects arrested

ABBOTTABAD: In a significant operation against document fraud, Abbottabad police apprehended a group involved in the illegal issuance of Pakistani identity cards to Afghan nationals.

Police sources identified the arrested suspects as Saqib from Islamabad, Naeem from Kehal, Sami, an Afghan national, and Jaleel. The group is accused of forging documents to enable Afghan nationals to fraudulently obtain Pakistani national identity cards.

A case has been filed against the suspects under Sections 419, 468, and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code, along with Section 14 of the Foreigners Act. Authorities have stated that further investigations are underway to identify additional suspects and accomplices involved in the scam.
