GUJRANWALA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala Zone has intensified its efforts to combat human trafficking, arresting three alleged traffickers in separate operations across Gujranwala and Gujrat.
The suspects, identified as Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Bilal, and Muhammad Shahbaz, were apprehended following investigations into fraudulent job offers abroad.
FIA officials confirmed that Muhammad Shahbaz, a suspect already on the wanted list, is accused of defrauding a citizen of over Rs1.2 million with a false promise of employment in Greece.
Muhammad Irfan is similarly charged with receiving Rs1.1 million from another individual in exchange for a bogus job offer in Canada. The third suspect, Muhammad Bilal, allegedly swindled Rs400,000 by offering a non-existent job opportunity in Dubai.
The suspects had reportedly gone into hiding after collecting large sums of money from victims, leaving them without any hope of the overseas employment they were promised. The FIA has begun formal interrogations of the arrested individuals and is conducting raids in various areas to apprehend other members of the trafficking network.
This operation is part of the FIA’s ongoing crackdown on human trafficking, which continues to target criminal networks exploiting citizens with fraudulent promises of work abroad.
