Pakistan, Iran FMs discuss current developments in region at ECO Summit

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Friday met Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, where they discussed the current status and developments in the region.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 17th ECO Summit in Khankendi, Azerbaijan. During the discussions, the two leaders agreed to keep each other updated on any developments that might occur in the region, ensuring continuous dialogue between both countries.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the relationship between Pakistan and Iran, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, security, and regional stability.

It is notable that the Prime Minister is in Azerbaijan leading Pakistan’s delegation for the 17th ECO Summit, which was held on July 3-4, 2025. This summit brought together representatives from member countries to discuss regional cooperation and address shared challenges.
