Sindh hosts awareness session on child marriage and domestic violence

THATTA: The Sindh Human Rights Department, in partnership with the Legal Aid Society (LAS), organized an awareness session in Makli to educate the public, particularly women, about laws combating child marriage and domestic violence.

The session aimed to highlight women’s legal rights, available protection mechanisms, and the free legal assistance provided by LAS. The organization, founded by Justice (R) Nasir Aslam Zahid, has been offering free legal aid to both women and men in various districts of Sindh.

Altaf Hussain Tanyo, a key speaker at the event, urged the Legal Aid teams from Karachi and Hyderabad to open local offices in Thatta and Sujawal for more accessible legal assistance. He also announced plans for a delegation to meet Justice Zahid to pursue this proposal.
