Rain forecast fails as Karachi faces intense heat and humidity

KARACHI: Karachi experienced a scorching and humid day on Monday, with temperatures soaring to 40 degrees Celsius. The high humidity made the weather feel suffocating, causing severe discomfort for residents throughout the day. While some suburban areas received light drizzles, most of the city waited in vain for the rainfall that had been forecasted.

The day began with a minimum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius and humidity levels rising to 73%. As the sun intensified and wind speeds dropped, the heat gradually became more unbearable. By the afternoon, the city was gripped by heatwave-like conditions, with the humidity adding to the discomfort.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature reached 40 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels at 58%. This combination of high temperature and humidity made it feel even hotter. Despite predictions of light to moderate rain, only a few areas saw brief showers, leaving most parts of the city dry.
