Three drown at Sandspit Beach

KARACHI: Three young men tragically drowned at Sandspit Beach in Hawke’s Bay on Sunday. The victims, who were friends from North Karachi, had visited the beach for a picnic when they were swept away by strong tides while splashing in the water.

Rescuers were able to pull one of the men, Farhan Shah, out of the water, though he was unconscious. Unfortunately, two others, Ali Hassan and Jameel Naveed, did not survive the incident.

According to SHO Maripur, Sardar Abbasi, the group did not know how to swim, which led to their inability to cope with the unexpected waves.
