KARACHI: An FIR has been registered at the Madina Colony police station following a gunfire attack on the residence of Faizan Jafri, the Baldia Town Organiser of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P).
The incident took place late on Friday when unidentified gunmen opened fire at Jafri’s house. Police found bullet marks on the walls and recovered five 9mm pistol shells from the scene. The case has been filed based on Jafri’s complaint, and investigations are ongoing.
The MQM-P central committee strongly condemned the attack, drawing attention to the recent killing of party member Ali Adeel in a terrorist attack just days ago. The committee raised concerns about the performance of Sindh Police in maintaining law and order and called for the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and strict legal action.
In a separate matter, an Anti-Terrorism Court issued bailable arrest warrants for MQM leader Ahmed Ali in connection with a money laundering case involving illegal transactions worth billions of rupees.
