Karachi experiences severe heatwave conditions

KARACHI: Karachi endured a second consecutive day of extreme heat and humidity on Saturday, with low wind speeds and high humidity creating heatwave-like conditions across the city.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department reported a maximum temperature of 37.1 degrees Celsius, but due to humidity levels reaching 65%, the heat felt much more intense, especially during the afternoon when mugginess was at its peak.

The Early Warning Centre forecasted that similar conditions would persist through Sunday, with temperatures ranging between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius and high humidity continuing. However, light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms, is expected to provide some relief by Monday.
