Tribal clash in Shikarpur leaves four dead, protest follows

HYDERABAD: A tribal conflict between the Sundrani and Brohi clans resulted in the deaths of four individuals from the Sundrani group in Shikarpur district on Thursday. The victims, identified as Noor Muhammad Sundrani, Nizam Ahmed Sundrani, Adam Sundrani, and their driver Rasool Bux Marfani, were returning from a court hearing when their vehicle was ambushed near a toll plaza.

Police reports indicate that armed assailants on motorbikes opened fire on the car before fleeing the scene. The Sundrani community has accused the Brohi clan of orchestrating the attack. In response, the community staged a sit-in protest at the toll plaza, demanding that authorities take action against the Brohis.

The protest ended after the district’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Shahazeb Chachar, assured the protesters that Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Paras Bakrani would be assigned to investigate the incident.
